Quick Facts About Sending Cover Letters & Resumes Via the Web
Keep your resume professional but simple (Check out Resume &
Cover Letter Help page for more information). Use a "text" format or a
HTML format. This will reduce the opportunity for error. Emailing and
"Cutting and Pasting" can result in unintentional "line breaks" or
large spacing between words.
If you are emailing or "cutting and pasting," be sure to read how the employer prefers to receive documents. This will show the employer you are paying
attention and you know how to provide what a person wants.
If there is space to provide a cover letter and it states cover letter is optional. Then definitely paste a cover letter.
Finally, before you press "Send" always review your cover letter and resume after "cutting and pasting." It never hurts to check one last time before a
potential boss looks at it. Your resume will make your first impression with your potential future boss!
