Training Assistance Scholarships
Workforce Network offers a variety of scholarships to eligible individuals in central Illinois. These training assistance scholarships are grant-based programs funded by the federal government and private philanthropic organizations.
Each scholarship has specific eligibility requirements. Below is a short explanation of each scholarship. Click here for an in-depth explanation of the WIA Scholarship eligibility requirements.
If you do not qualify for our training assistance programs, we encourage you to explore alternative options for financial assistance for training. Please contact the school or training provider you are interested in for further information about grants, scholarships, loans and/or other opportunities available.
1A Adult-Low Income
The 1A Adult-Low Income training assistance program provides scholarships to adults that meet low income guidelines. At this time, all available scholarships have been awarded.
1D Dislocated Worker
The 1D Dislocated Worker training assistance program provides scholarships to dislocated workers from layoff events affecting less than 250 workers.
The 1Y Youth training assistance program provides scholarships to out-of-school youth between the ages of 18 and 21.
Grand Victoria (GV)
The Grand Victoria training assistance program provides scholarships to incumbent healthcare workers.
Green Jobs Training Grant
The Green Jobs Training grant provides scholarships for the Building Performance Institutes' Building Analyst Professional and Envelope Professional written and field examinations, the LEED ® Green Associate preparation training and exam, and a new WIA approved curriculum "Green Building Environment" Certificate and Associate degree programs at Illinois Central College. These "green" training programs offer training for careers in the emerging "green" economy in the building construction industry.
1E Dislocated Worker
The 1E Dislocated Worker training assistance program provides scholarships to dislocated workers from layoff events affecting more than 250 workers.
Trade Globalization Adjustment Assistance Act (TGAAA)
The TGAAA program provides scholarships to dislocated workers who have been found to be adversely impacted by a shift of production to another country.
