Career Transition

"This is very beneficial to have available to all dislocated workers ... I am so thankful the program is here," ROHN dislocated worker.

A range of re-employment services are available to workers who have been laid off due to plant closings or downsizing. Available core services can include job search and job placement assistance and useful labor market information.

Available intensive services may inlcude career counseling; comprehensive assessment of an individual's employability; development of a personal employment plan; and workshops such as interviewing, presentation skills, and resume preparation to enhance individual job seeking skills.

Occupational training linked to local job opportunities and supportive services, such as transportation and child care, may also be available. These services, which are funded by grants awarded to states on the basis of need, help dislocated workers acquire new jobs that offer benefits and a more secure future.

Many laid off workers are eligible for Unemployment Insurance while they receive these services.

The Workforce Network can assist employers with:

  • Explaining the Unemployment Insurance registration process.
  • Minimizing Workers Compensation costs.
  • Reducing the strain between employers and employees by assisting employees with training and finding new careers.
  • Demonstrating good corporate citizenship in the community.

Workforce Network has the team and resources to make that tough layoff not so tough.  For more information, please call David Vaughn at 309-495-8942.
