Career Transition

If your company has been forced to consider or implement layoffs, then let Workforce Network help your affected workers with unemployment insurance (UI), job search resources and training assistance.  Workforce Network's Career Transition services are completely funded by federal and state grants.  There is no cost for the employer or dislocated workers.

When layoffs occur, Workforce Network deploys a Rapid Response Team of its partner agencies, including the Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES), to help businesses and affected workers during the transition.

Workforce Network can help you:

  • Explain the Unemployment Insurance registration process;
  • Minimize Workers Compensation costs;
  • Reduce the strain between employers and employees by assisting employees with training and finding new careers;
  • Demonstrate good corporate citizenship in the community.

What will you do for your workers?

  • Distribute materials about Workforce Network's services to your affected workers;
  • Invite IDES to take on-site UI claims prior to layoff; or
  • Invite Workforce Network, including IDES, to hold a comprehensive Rapid Response Pre-Layoff Workshop to prepare your affected workers for the upcoming separation.  This meeting includes instructions on how to file a UI claim; how to utilize our job search services, and how to apply for re-training scholarships.

Workforce Network can help your dislocated workers survive and thrive during a career transition.  For more information, contact David Vaughn at 309-495-8942 or DVaughn@WorkforceNetwork.com.
